Welcome to Tahoe Adventure Sports. We offer comprehensive information about self-propelled sports at Lake Tahoe, such as hiking and backpacking, mountain biking, road biking, rock climbing, peak climbing/skiing/boarding, cross-country skiing, and kayaking. To get started, click on one of the adventure sports listed above.

We will also link you up with loads of visitor information like interesting Tahoe facts, the Tahoe weather forecast, road and avalanche conditions, where to buy or rent gear, and what sport events are happening around Tahoe, as well as where to stay, where to eat, and what to do when you're not out adventuring. We have included maps for you to peruse too! We will also be adding a photos page in the near future.

Whether you are a family with small children or a hard core weekend warrior, we have the information you need to plan an active and exciting trip. The information on this site is being expanded daily so please bookmark this site and return to see what's new. Also, we would love to hear from you about what type of information you need more of, what you like, and what you don't. So, email us or complete the feedback form if you get a chance.

To help you find an appropriate adventure, we have subdivided the activities into three levels of difficulty:

  • Beginner: These activities are suitable for families or folks with little experience in the sport. They are flat or nearly so, short or adjustable, yet these outings are scenic, secluded, or otherwise enticing.
  • Intermediate: For these adventures, you should have some experience in the sport and be in reasonable condition. While there may be no object danger, you won't enjoy the adventure much if you have little experience or are right off the couch.
  • Advanced: Adventures for the experienced only. Long and hard requiring good condition. Some of these challenging adventures present difficulties, speed, or remoteness that introduce a distinct element of risk for those who choose to participate.

Lake Tahoe has much to offer those adventurous souls whose idea of fun includes exercise, fresh air, excitement, and beautiful scenery. This site is dedicated to helping you plan adventures no matter what your experience or condition. So sit back, click around, and have fun planning. Oh, and if you happen to talk to any of the businesses featured on this site, please be sure to let them know you heard about them at Tahoe Adventure Sports.com.
