Welcome to the Tahoe Adventure Sports Visitor Information Page. While our primary focus is helping you find appropriate adventures at Lake Tahoe, we know you'll need information on where to stay, where to eat, what the weather has in store, and much more. Here you'll find the logistical information you'll need to plan your trip as well as general Lake Tahoe information. Lake Tahoe is located in the northern part of the Sierra Nevada mountains ninety miles east of Sacramento, California and fifty miles southwest of Reno, Nevada. Two-thirds of the lake is in California with one-third in Nevada. The lake itself is broken down geographically by North Shore, South Shore, East Shore, and West Shore. The majority of Lake Tahoe's residents live on the South Shore in South Lake Tahoe, California, Lake Tahoe (Stateline), Nevada, or the unincorporated lands of El Dorado County. Tahoe City on the northwest shore and Incline Village on the northeast shore are the other more populous areas. |
